How to avoid a parking ticket at CSU

SHORT TERM PARKING (PREPAID PARKING)*

ENTRY TICKET OR PREPAID PARKING RECEIPT MUST BE DISPLAYED WHILE PARKED.

Pre-payment is required for all meters and PayStations and they are enforced 24 hours/every day. Citations will be issued on expired spaces every four hours. CSU Parking permits are not valid at PayStation spaces except when displayed with a disabled parking placard on vehicles parked in designated disabled parking spaces or when the parking sign states differently. Prepaid contractor passes or vouchers are also not accepted at coin meter and PayStation spaces unless it is clearly stated on the pass.

Coin meters: $.25 per 10 minutes or $1.50 per hour; the meters accept US quarters only or use T2 or the . May be staffed/reserved for special events or unavailable during construction or conferences. 

*PayStations allow parking up to four (4) hours and accept cash or credit (once payment is submitted, no additional time can be added at the Pay Station). PayStations DO NOT give change - exact payment is required and excess payments will not be refunded. CSU Prepaid permits are not valid at PayStation spaces except when displayed with a disabled parking placard on vehicles parked in designated disabled parking spaces or when the parking sign states differently.

Parking at a malfunctioning coin meter or PayStation is prohibited. Please notify Parking & Transportation Services at 216-687-2023 regarding a defective meter.

How to Use Pay Stations

  1. Touch screen to activate
  2. Enter the parking space number
  3. Press OK
  4. Select the number corresponding to the hours you need to park. 
  5. Accepts $1, $5,  and $10 bills – (exact change only, no refunds)
  6. Accepts Debit cards, Discover, Visa & Master Card
  7. Please take your receipt and display it on your dashboard.
  8. If you did not purchase enough time, you cannot extend time at the PayStation.

Adding Time - Passport Parking Mobile and T2 Text2Pay App

 and  allow registered users to purchase and/or extend their time with a credit card (Visa, MC, and Discover) via mobile app (smartphone required) or on the web for a $0.25 to $.050 convenience fee per session. So long as you keep the current parking session active, you will only be charged one $0.25 convenience fee. The maximum extendable time (after initial time purchase) is up to four (4) hours. If payment is made through the PayStation, Text2Pay, or Passport Parking App, the time is calculated from the time of payment, it will not add Patrons who wish to park for longer periods should consider utilizing a pay-as-you-exit garage.

Safety Escorts

Individuals who walk across campus during evening hours are encouraged to use CSU Escorts by calling 216.687.2020 from a cell phone or by calling 2020 from any campus phone when traveling to and from destinations.

Parking Rules

Each individual who chooses to park at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå University is expected to comply with established rules and regulations. See additional information under Parking Rules.

Special Event Parking Information

Special event parking rates are posted at each event and on the "Events & News" link. In the absence of a special event rate, the Visitor rate is assessed.  Pre-paid parking for events is available for and . NOTE: Additional on-campus parking may be offered for a specific event. Please refer inquiries to the event sponsor (e.g. College of Music, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, or Wolstein Center). Facility clearance heights can be found on our visitor page.

Online Account Options 

Visitors can register for an online account on our by clicking "create one." A valid email address is required and the email address cannot be active on another parking account (i.e. student, staff, or visitor). An online account allows the option to review citations, process payments, and submit parking appeals.

Password resets can be completed by selecting the "." Please note that if the email address is active on two separate accounts, this option will not work. Please send an email to parking@csuohio.edu to resolve the issue.

Receipts and Refunds

Parking & Transportation Services does not issue retail-type receipts for parking. Individuals are to be issued a ticket to be placed on the vehicle’s dashboard in clear view.

Due to the volume of patrons involved, there are no refunds offered for special event parking or lost ticket costs. 

Locations

  •  â€“ Individuals attending special events are encouraged to park in the South Garage (SG) with an entrance on East 21st Street or the West Garage (WG) with an entrance from East 17th Street between Chester and Euclid Avenues. Designated parking for vehicles displaying a State of Ohio disability placard is provided on the Center’s Drive, which is located on the north side of the facility with entry from Prospect Avenue at East 18th Street. Pedestrian drop-off is recommended from the Center’s Drive or from the curb lane on the south side of Prospect Avenue between East 18th and East 21st Street.
  • Natatorium and Recreation Center - Individuals attending a competitive, reserved, or special event are encouraged to park in East Garage (EG) with entry from eastbound Chester Avenue at East 25th Street. Pedestrian drop-off is recommended from the curb lane on East 24th Street just north of Euclid Avenue or from the curb lane on the south side of Chester Avenue at East 24th Street. From either location, pedestrians will then proceed to the entrance of the Physical Education Building, which is on the pedestrian mall on East 24th Street. Rec Center Parking Permits can be purchased with an up-to-date Rec Center membership. Rec Center Permits are valid in Lot 65 and Lot 54 for up to 3 hours of parking per day.   • Waetjen Auditorium and Drinko Hall - Individuals attending special events are encouraged to park in Central Garage (CG) with entry from southbound East 21st Street from Chester Avenue. Designated parking for vehicles displaying a State of Ohio disability placard is provided in Lot 21 (Music/Communication Building), which is located on Euclid Avenue just west of East 21st Street with entry from Euclid Avenue. Pedestrian drop-off is recommended from the curb lane on the southwest corner of East 21st Street and Euclid Avenue intersection. Stair-free building access is available on the top level of the garage but is not open to parking for all events held on campus.
  • Woodling Gymnasium - Individuals attending a competitive, reserved, or special event are encouraged to park in East Garage (EG) with entry from eastbound Chester Avenue at East 25th Street. Pedestrian drop-off is recommended from the curb lane on East 24th Street just north of Euclid Avenue or from the curb lane on the south side of Chester Avenue at East 24th Street. From either location, pedestrians will then proceed to the entrance of the Physical Education Building, which is on the pedestrian mall on East 24th Street.

Admissions Guests - Prospective students are provided with program-specific information from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Graduate Admissions, or the College of Law.

 - Individuals are encouraged to review the information about the specific facility in use, provided under Events, or contact the Athletic Department directly.

 -Individuals visiting campus to attend an educational, entertainment, recreational, or social event sponsored by a student organization are encouraged to review the information about the specific facility in use, provided under Events.

Orientation Participants - Incoming undergraduate students and their families will be provided with program-specific information from the Orientation Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇås Office regarding the parking to be offered.
